MEDIUM EXPERIMENTS
Cracking the Medium Code — Day 2
Progress on the second day of the experiment to understand the medium algorithm
Today is the second day of my Cracking the Medium Code Experiment which is tailored to find out how being consistent with the engagements and publishing increases the view count. If you want to know more about the starting state and experiment setup you can read about it here.
As planned, I followed 10 new followers today. During the past day, I only got followed by 3 people. I was already following one of them. I went through the two new authors stories and followed one of them back. The rest I found from the “Recommended” tab. Similarly, I went to the “Following” tab and read 10 stories from the authors I already follow.
Daily Stats
Today is 14th October. As of 11.44 midnight, I got 4o views. Yesterday 13th of October, I got a total of 44 views. I have to admit the numbers are looking good and my daily average is increasing. But the new views are mostly on the previous articles on finding Brum and moving countries. My daily stories which I self publish are getting views below 5.
Final Thoughts
I was having a headache and not wanting to do this today. But for the sake of consistency, I went ahead. My current results are looking good and show promise that the experiment is going on the direction that I need it to go. But it’s too early to come to a conclusion. I will be back tomorrow with the daily progress. Bye for now!
