Every one of us has a different experience. If you are an expat or a second-generation Asian living in the United Kingdom, the “Asians in the UK” publication is your place to tell your story. You never know whom it will end up helping.

I relocated to the UK in early 2018. Having lived my whole life in Sri Lanka, this was a very big change for me. However, my employer paid for a relocation support service, which made my relocation smooth with all the logistics covered. Even with that, there were moments that I struggled in getting used to living in a different place. From the culture to the language, every step of the way was a challenge.

This made me think, there are hundreds of people relocating to the UK every year. With Brexit full-on force, I am expecting more and more Asians to migrate to fill the upcoming job opportunities and take advantage of the new visa system. Not everyone will be lucky to have the logistical support system that I had. But you are not alone. There are several others before you who came to the UK who had the same experiences had the same struggles and had the same ‘Aha’ moments. So I wanted to create a space so that everyone can share their experiences in living and migrating to the UK from Asia. This is how the publication “Asians in the UK” is born.

Come, read and subscribe to our publication. Share your own story. You can find the information on how to write to “Asians in the UK” here.

Here are a couple of stories to give you a glimpse of the current content.
